John Heyer Paper was one of the first paper companies to specialise in recycled grades of paper. Our mills have produced recycled paper for 30 years, and are recognised as the industry benchmark for recycled paper manufacture. Steinbeis Temming and PapierFabrik Am Neckar are accredited with the ISO14001 environmental Standard and the ISO9001 management Standard.
Our uncoated products are accredited with the Blue Angel award and our coated papers are accredited with the Nordic Swan award.
The Blue Angel sets standards for environmental conservation and sustainability for a wide range of products in Germany and beyond. The Blue Angel accreditation for recycled paper requires the use of 100% recovered paper. This means:
- low use of water and energy in production
- preservation of forests
- promotion of recycling management
- protection of the environmental and health through the avoidance of questionable chemicals and additives
The Nordic Swan assesses the product’s environmental impact during its entire life cycle, from raw material to waste. For example, it stipulates requirements on energy and resource consumption, factory emissions into the air, water and land, and the content of environmentally harmful substances in the product.
